Keeley Hazell Videos: Refuge talks with Keeley Hazell concerning her late picture Venus and The Sun: Keeley Hazell is a young woman who's made a name and career for herself by appearing scantily clad in magazines and newspapers across the land.
And while we obviously enjoyed her partially-nude omnipresence in our on-going lives, we perhaps shallowly assumed that we wouldn't have that much in common with Keeley. But an appearance in a modern day re-working of Ovid's tale of Venus and Adonis has made us think otherwise.
Now we're no fans of the tales of Ovid -- they're are an uncomfortable period in any literary student's life, Metamorphoses, Leda and the Swan, Venus and Adonis -- it's all a bit classical for our taste, a bit too swans-having-sex-with-humans if you catch our drift.
But we're well into high-brow films and stuff, and we're obviously massive fans of Keeley -- so when the two came together we were, to say the least, delighted.
The film Venus and The Sun itself is an interesting 15 minute sojourn co-staring The Thick Of It's Will Smith, that uses a fictionalised Keeley to question our expectations of people. It cunningly probes the way the media likes to pigeonhole people, as if to make them more digestible for us, the beastly public, to gobble up.
Keeley Hazell it transpires is a lady with a passion for small independent films and blogging too, and luckily we had a chance to chat with her this week, and you can see it after the break. And you can catch Venus and The Sun as an app from 14th March.
